Darpe a towel over your head and carefully inhale steam from a bowl of hotwater. Repeat several times a day. Or take a hot shower, breathing in warm , moist air.
Apply warm compresses to your nose, cheeks and eyes.
Drink more fluids. This will dilute mucous secretions and allow them to drain from your sinuses more easily.
Use bulb syringe to irrigate the inside of your nose with saline solution several times a day. This can relieves nasal stuffiness.
Take over the counter pain relieners for discomfort.
Avoiding bending over with your head down. This usually increases pressure.
Gently and regularly blow your nose.
Use over the counter decongestants or short term decongestant sprays too reduce congestion. Don't use a decongestant nasal spray for longer than four days in a row with out approval from your doctor.
