Swine Flu

Swine flu is a big issue right now around the globe. Many had died in Mexico from this deadly disease.Virulent swine flu spread to 11 U.S. states from coast to coast Wednesday and swept deeper into Europe. The World Health Organization raised its pandemic alert for swine flu to the second highest level Wednesday, meaning that it believes a global outbreak of the disease is imminent.

Many businesses are affected with this deadly disease. Cruises shut down, some base ball game does not have any audience because people are afraid to interact with people that they might get the swine flu. How many more people that this disease will kill? Many are taking step to avoid getting the swine flu. Many are using mask, but the mask cannot prevent you from getting the flu. Staying away from the crowd is one thing you can do to avoid the flu.

The symptoms of the swine flu are like the common cold such as fatigue, sore throat, coughing, lack of appetite and – in some – diarrhea, vomiting, and nausea.Protect your love one from the swine flu, buy your swine flu kit now. The other way to preventing yourself from getting sick, do the following, hand washing with soap and water, covering mouth and nose with tissues when sneezing or coughing, and staying home if you feel ill. Be safe.

Just Saying Thank You

Tuesday, April 28, 2009

I just wanted to say thank you to all of my friend who visited my blog none stop even though I was not able to visit them back right away. As I had been so busy lately... my schedule is slowing down and I am slowly going back to blogging. Just know... that I appreciate all of you and your patient. Later on this day... I will probably be visiting you all, at least I will try to hit all of you. If I cannot able to do that, I ask for your patient and I will get to your blog as soon as I can. Thank you and please stop by again.

Become a Computer Expert

Ever wanted to be the person that someone turns to when their computer is on the blink? Maybe you just fancy showing off your computer skills to friends and relatives?

Take a computer course. People are more likely to listen to someone who has a recognised qualification under their name. Even if it's just passing their GCSE I.T! Make sure you have a computer. Or better still an old one so you can try different things. Try experimenting with a Linux CD as the regular use of command lines will sure to increase your computer knowledge fast! Be prepared to fix. Every time your computer goes wrong, resign yourself to fixing it yourself. You have the Internet now and visiting tech support forums will allow you to communicate with others who have had the same problem. Don't be afraid of your computer! What have you got to lose by tinkering with that registry if your computer is already in an unusable state? You could save yourself the trouble of re-installing Windows. When fixing other people's computers, be sure to bring a flash drive with the following: AVG free setup file (in case they have no anti virus), CCleaner, Auslogics Disk Defrag setup file and FireFox or Opera (to introduce them to the alternative). You can use these programs to free up space, disable start up programs which might cause conflicts and search and destroy viruses. You can also leave them on the computer if they are unprotected. Read tech support forums to recognise the symptoms of well known problems. For example a slow and unresponsive PC could indicate a virus and failure to boot into Windows could be a driver problem.

Become a member of TechSupportGuy.org. Be sure to reply to as many problems with a solution as possible. Make sure you have a Windows CD in case you can't fix the problem and need to start from scratch and make sure you can use it. Remember these useful tools to access behind the scenes of Windows XP and Vista; msconfig and services. Type into the start and run bar

Make sure you're not going to make any computer problem worse by having some knowledge of it before you fix your neighbors PC. Don't fiddle with settings on a perfectly working family computer. Have an old 128mb RAM basic tower that your friends scrapped years ago to do that with! Then mess around until your heart is content!

Things You'll Need:

* A second basic computer for backup and testing things with
* Computer knowledge
* A flash drive with essential tools
* A decent search engine

Monitor Your Apartment With a Webcam While on Vacation

Are you planning to be away from your residence for a while? Need some budget monitoring from a distance? Try this.

Obtain video capture software. There are many different offerings, each with pros and cons. Try looking up for some easy to use, practical video capture software, that comes complete with a review. If all else fails, just use Windows Movie Maker. Use the software's ReadMe or Install Wizard to install the program. This is only necessary if you plan to record the footage. Set up your camera. You will need to keep the camera near a computer. If you can, use a high-memory laptop or similar small size computer. You want to be able to hide it. You will need to have your computer near wherever your camera is. Hiding the camera will give intruders a sense of security, as they will think the house is not monitored. This will lead to a better capture of their features. You need to make sure the camera can see some crucial parts of the house, and as much of it as possible. Remember that having a web cam next to a computer is not unusual, and can make for fairly good cover. Set up an account. You will need to have an account on a website with web cam capabilities. Once you've set it up you're ready to start. Watching from a distance. While on holiday, login using a different account, and make a connection with the account that your home camera is connected to. If you're using the right kind of site, the web cam should be playing you images from your own home. Whenever you check in, take a screen shot and compare them. If anything has moved you will be able to see.

Choose chat room sites that allow you to be logged in indefinetly while the account is inactive. Also make sure you can access the web cam without the permission of the other account. As insecure as this, people won't be able to glean much info from it, so it should be OK.

This will not work if you use one of the more common Instant Messageing sites. These have systems to stop users keeping inactive accounts logged in, so as to save their own processor. Choose one of the websites that seem a little bit 'dodgier'.

Plan a Family Vacation On a Budget

Money is always an issue in today's world, but that doesn't mean you can't plan a fun vacation on a tight budget, it just takes a few tricks and some smart thinking in order to pull it off. Here is what I found to be useful when planning a money conscious vacation.

To Fly or Drive: Assuming that by now you have your destination already picked out, how are you going to get there? Gas prices are near four dollars a gallon, and plane tickets are expensive, not to mention the very strict rules as to what you can and cannot take on board. So to help with both here is what is recommended. If you Drive: Instead of eating your meals at McDonald's on your way to Vacation, pack a cooler of food. You can buy a cooler and a weeks worth of sandwich stuff for around 25-35 dollars. Get a tune up, they can be expensive but a Tune up will help keep your car fuel efficient and could possibly save your life. Budget at least $20 over what you think you'll be paying in gas.

If you Fly: Travelocity, or other Internet sites like Travelocity can help with finding a cheap rate. Flying at odd hours will ensure a cheaper ticket! When traveling around Europe book your plane for around midnight because those flights offer the lower rates.Whatever airline you book with, look up their site as well and see what their rules are as far as carry on material and flight exchanges or cancellations. You might be able to get a cheaper rate through the airline than through Travelocity, and you can save even more money by bringing food with your carry on, so long as they allow it. In flight snacks are expensive so if you can, pack your own. Where to Sleep:The best advice on where to stay once you've reached your destination is to check hotel rooms and rates early, a few months in advance. The earlier you book a room the cheaper the rate. Also try to book in their off season, many Hotels will have cheaper rates when they don't expect a lot of reservations to be coming in.
"I Forgot" Its a bummer when you find out that you forgot something important and have to spend money on an item like, a bathing suit, or shampoo. Granted these items can be cheap, but its better not to have to spend money on them.

Here's what you do to make sure you don't forget anything. Do a walk through of your home and write down all the things you use for personal hygiene, and things you will want to have on your vacation. Tape the list to the top of the suit case, and the day of your flight... start packing. Once you know, that everything on the list is in the suit case... rip up the list. Its easy and its a fairly good way to make sure you got everything. Meal Time: An expensive, but fun past-time during vacation is eating out. Plan your meals ahead of time. Budget your money and if you can, eat out everyday, if you can afford it. If you can't, look at your monthly food bill, and estimate how much it will cost for you and your family to eat for the amount of time on the vacation. Then either pack a cooler to take with you, or plan on going shopping at a store near the hotel and fixing picnic-like meals in the room. Try to set money aside for at least one meal out at a restaurant, and if you do, make sure it's a place that isn't common to your home town.Make it something different and something fun.

Devote a Day to Relaxing and Pampering Yourself at Home

Friday, April 24, 2009

Everyone needs a day off once in a while. But this is a treat- don't do it every week!

Get out that bubble bath and the radio. Draw a bath, of course with extra bubbles. Tune the radio to a relaxing station, light some candles or incense, and just relax! Don't clean, just soak your troubles away. Then wash your body with a refreshing-smelling body soap. Whenever you are done soaking, get out, dry off, and get dressed in sweats and a T shirt, or whatever makes you feel comfy. Maybe lounge pants, floods or shorts.
Pull your hair back into a bun, and put on a headband. You want to make sure your hair is out of our face for these next few steps. Rinse and pat your face dry. Apply a facial mask. If you don't have one, make one (1/2 mashed up banana with 2 tbs. honey. Leave on for 10-20 minutes.) Then rinse. While you're waiting, read a good magazine. Rinse the facial and pat your face dry. Now wash with a great toner (Neutrogena Acne Face Wash, $7 drugstores). Rinse well and pat dry. Now, it's time for the nails. Remove any old nail polish from your finger nails and toe nails.Rent or watch on TV a good chick flick. Paint your nails and eat yummy popcorn while doing this.Get a tub of your favorite ice cream plus cookies and enjoy. After the movie, read a good book for as long as you'd like. After you've read, go to sleep, or, take a nice nap.

Meditation: Try meditating, or resting quietly with the goal of completely clearing your mind. You will inevitably start to think about something, just notice that, acknowledge it, and gently bring yourself back to a silent mind. Whatever you were thinking of will still be there when you leave this state, but putting it down for a moment, 5 minutes, or an hour, will re-energize your mind and help you to deal with any task. Yoga: Some simple stretching of the body can do wonders to relax muscle tension as well as mental tension.

Spray on your favorite perfume/body spray all over your body and clothes.Tell everyone in the house that you're doing this, so they don't disturb you.
If you don't like popcorn or ice cream, make a hot hot chocolate with whipped cream on top. Don't feel like renting a movie? Check to see if any good movies are on TV, or watch a favorite movie that you own! You can replace these clothes items with anything you want, as long as it's comfortable. Pajamas work fine too, if you're doing this later in the day. If you have a CD player near your bathroom, put the CD in there, and turn it up so you can hear it. This may be safer than actually having it in your bathroom.

If you don't have bubble bath, shower/bath gel or bar soap work great too.Snack types can vary, so if you prefer veggies and dip, over chips and popcorn, go for it! This is your day, after all!If you want, invite a few friends over for watching the movie, so you can have fun together. Try doing this on the weekend (Saturday or Sunday), or in the evening. If you don't like to read talk on the phone or take a calming walk! This guide was intended for women, because men may not find it very relaxing to watch a chick-flick (boring yes, relaxing, no) or use bubble bath. But, if you're a man and find these things relaxing, these steps will probably work for you, too. If you don't unplug your phone, pager, etc. you will be interrupted'. Make sure everyone knows where you are and not to bother you, so you won't have to tell them while you're in the tub or something.

Take the Time to Pamper Yourself

Everyone needs quality time for themselves. Women, especially, need that time to pamper themselves a little after that busy day. As that old saying goes, men may work from sun to sun, but a woman's work is never done. That saying certainly stands true; a little time set aside for yourself isn't too much to ask. It doesn't matter if it is late evening, nighttime, or early morning. Take the time and the steps to pamper yourself. Remember that you as a whole are what you are stuck with for life. So treat yourself well and like yourself. Here are some things that can make you feel pampered.

Take a foot soak. Use a small pan or tub and fill it with warm water and add baby oil with vitamin E to soak your feet in.Scrub your feet. Have on hand your favorite foot scrub and scrub your feet after your warm foot soaking. Sea salt works great, too.Delight in bubbles. Consider taking a full bubble bath, and add a face mask. Caress your feet with softness. Have some Footsies or socks ready to put on after applying some cream or Vaseline. Cut the toes out of old socks to sleep in to allow the cream to soak in overnight. Soothe the hands. Take care of your hands the same as you would your face by applying hand lotion or even your face cream, especially at night.Spritz the face. Keep a small spray bottle filled with spring water to mist your face during the day and at night.

Deep cleanse the face. Using a clay facial mask (such as the avocado, kaolin and rosemary) on your hands works great and leaves hands soft. Give all the skin a treat. Don't forget to add lotion to the rest of your body and pay attention to the neck area. Add moisture to your hair. Keep a spray bottle filled with tap water to mist your hair. This works great on fine hair that is layered.Use scent to lift your mood. Using vanilla or lilac body sprays will add that special touch after a nice shower or bath. Treat the legs. Don't forget to put cream on your legs - cocoa butter works great. Jazz up the teeth. Get in the habit of taking care of your teeth, and don't forget to floss. Eat well. Prepare yourself a generous meal, relax and really taste the food.Chill down for the night. Rent yourself a good movie, kick your feet up, and relax. Spend a little time at night to yourself.

No matter if you decide to pamper yourself daily or weekly, take the time. Everyone deserves to be pampered sometimes. There is nothing vain or wrong about thinking of yourself. Sometimes we tend to put ourselves last - and doing so all the time is not a healthy way of living. We were pampered as babies, but now that we are grown we have to do it ourselves. If you run out of your favorite facial scrub, a tiny bit of baking soda mixed with a little water works great. For exfoliating your skin, there are many great inexpensive soaps out there that have oatmeal and other ingredients in them. Drink lots of water. Exercise in moderation and eat the same way.Use a white nail pencil underneath your nail tips if you're wearing clear nail polish. Save up money so you can go shopping and treat yourself to a few gifts.

Find Free Things to Do on Weekends (for a Family)

Wednesday, April 22, 2009

"The best things in life are free," goes the old saying--but what can you do for free that's actually...well...fun?

Check your local newspaper for Community Events. Towns, cities, libraries, schools, recreation centers and the like often have free events. Check your local museums, parks, and the like for special Open House days or other events that offer free admission .Explore the Great Outdoors. Outside parks, forests, state land, and the like are often free and offer a lot of fun activities like swimming, nature hikes, camping, kite-flying, and the like. Be sure to check out special events like free workshops, guided hikes, stargazing parties, and more. Cook Together. You have to cook dinner; why not do it together? A family cooking project: chocolate chip cookies, barbecuing, making smoothies, making applesauce, is low cost and is fun.Play together. When was the last time you played catch with your Dad? Played chess with your step mom?Create together. Get your family involved in a project, such as building a tree house out of scrap lumber, painting the living room, creating a family scrapbook, and more. Have a Movie Night. Each member who's old enough to choose can designate a film for the evening to watch together. (Be sure it's appropriate for everyone). You might have forgotten how much you loved "The Wizard of Oz" until your little sister picked it out. You probably have tons of videos and DVDs that you haven't watched in a while, or can record any number of movies on your recorder. Libraries often have a wide variety of free movies FREE. Read a book together. Classics like "Charlotte's Web", "Alice in Wonderland" and more can be enjoyed by the whole family.

What Haven't You Done in a While? What's something that you or your parents did in the past for fun, that you haven't done lately? What's Hiding in the Closet? Is there sports equipment, games, art projects, and more that is disused in the attic, closet, garage, shed, and so on? Maybe it's time to try out those roller blades again, or set up the telescope in the backyard, play a game of croquet, and take your uncle's old canoe out on a trip. Volunteer a lot of organizations appreciate families helping out. Donating your time to worthy organizations can be fun, educational, and a great bonding experience. Check for Scholarships. Sometimes an organization will give a family a free pass if they can show financial hardship. Also, volunteering may give you free admission to museums, events, classes, and more.

Not every free event will be the best thing your family ever did together--that's OK. Try for a good time, and keep trying things even if there's some disappointments. Pack meals and snacks to avoid shelling out money on these things. Remember: family time together may at first seem not as fun as expensive vacations, but making time together to work at having fun will probably be really good for everyone. Some free activities (like free admission) don't end up being free. Beware of events in which you'll spend money on treats, meals, games, and so on.

Choose the Best Time for Watering the Garden

With water restrictions becoming an increasingly common part of life in many parts of the world, it is important to know the most effective ways of water application. One method is to know the best times of the day for watering that will ensure the water is not wasted and plants are not exposed to disease promoting conditions.

Water early in the morning. This is best for plants facing a heat-filled day; it will reduce the chance of stressing plants that feel a lack of water. Watering early can benefit from the dew already laid down. It also helps to discourage fungal growth for plants such as roses; if you water in the evening during humid weather, this encourages the growth of fungal diseases because the foliage lacks a chance to dry out during the night. Lawns also benefit most from early morning watering.
Water during the heat of the day if really needed. If your plants appear to be in dire need of an extra drink during exceptionally hot days, water them sparingly. It is very important to ensure that the water is cool; this means allowing the hose to run cool before using it on plants. Take care watering during windy weather. Avoid using a sprinkler during windy weather, as the water will blow away and evaporate, wasting the water. However, it may be prudent to water plants directly with a container or hose if the plant appears to be drying out too much in the wind.

If you are unable to water early in the morning, late afternoon is the next best; this is after the sun's heat has lost its harshness but before the chill in the air begins to set in.[3]

Cuba -- Is It Time?

re diplomatic and economic ties with Cuba the right thing for the U.S.? Obama and supporters say "Yes"; some Cuban-Americans say "No". Broad economic sanctions against Cuba have been in place since 1962, with the original goal being to bring down Fidel Castro's Marxist regime. Has that goal been met? Is it time to change?

Stay Organized With a Routine

Thursday, April 16, 2009

Need some structure and consistency in your life?Hope this help just to do just that!

1. Make a routine. Make a checklist. First start with things like "Get up at 7:10am and eat breakfast" and etc. Plan your day so you get used to it first.
2. Get more advanced after becoming accustomed to that system. Checklists are a good way to start a routine.
3. Mix things up, add things, or take away things to change a routine
4. Stay organized.Clean up once a week.
5. Make sure everything has a proper place and is in the appropriate room.

Get an organizer (planner). This will help a lot! The first time you make a checklist, number it from 1-10. Add more items after you are in the habit of dealing with the more limited list.Try not to get too obsessive about your routine.

Take Care of Yourself

Wednesday, April 15, 2009

Taking care of yourself may seem like a full-time job, but with some daily cleansing, it can be made easy.
Keep yourself clean. Wash yourself with a great smelling soap in your favorite scent like strawberry or cookies and cream (Yes, they really have these as scents). Wash your hair with a great smelling shampoo / conditioner for your hair-type (Sunsilk has wide selections). Clean out your ears. Trim and polish. Comb your hair, brush your teeth, trim your nails, and paint your toes if you want. Wash your face and put on less make-up than you usually would.
Lotion. Keep your body moisturized. Moisturize your legs, feet, arms, and hands the most. Mainly all your limbs. And your face if you need to. Dress. Clothe yourself in the shirts and pants that make you feel your best. Pick out at least 14 outfits that make you feel good. Go to seven if your closet is not that big. Have a good attitude. Taking care of yourself means on the inside too. Be nice to other people. Be nice to others who are different than you, you might make connections and good networks with people. Stand up for yourself but be tactful, and not aggressive. Being a diplomatic person is always good. Even if people are mean to you or want you to go away, always be nice to them no matter what. You will also make friends this way too. Eat healthy stuff like fruit and drink lots of water. This will keep you healthy too. Get enough sleep. Sleep must be stressed. Nobody wants bags under their eyes!

Put lip balm on your lips to keep them moisturized. Never use lip gloss when on a date. It isn't kiss friendly. Choose a hobby and do this once a week or whenever you can, it will keep your mind healthy. Pick a time frame daily to do something physically healthy, such as cardio (walking, kickboxing) or yoga, and even picking up weights will keep your muscles healthy and strong.(Aim to do this daily, if this is not possible, then at least a few times a week! Be dedicated to your physical health!) KEEP ORGANIZED! This means cleaning out your closet regularly (lets say monthly), organizing your desk, and keeping things in their place. Something as small as fixing your bed every morning will make a big difference in making it look clean. Make time to do this every morning, it does not take long! Keep a kit of all kind of things that you will need in your backpack. Prepare things the day before for the next day (such as picking out your clothes for the next day the night before, or making and packing your lunch for the next day the night before!). Always do your homework, it's the most important thing you can do in your whole day. If your grades are up, you are likely to be happier, and have less anxiety. You will always be prepared for the teacher's lesson - that's what homework is for! Be more conscious of yourself and your surroundings, take care of yourself, and enjoy life!Stay away from drugs. That is so not taking care of yourself if you use them.

Make Your Hair Grow Faster

Monday, April 13, 2009

There's no scientifically proven way to make your hair grow faster. Sorry. But, there is a lot of research on what causes hair loss. And the less hair you lose, the more hair you have growing to your length of choice, right? While some of the causes of hair loss can't be helped, there are several things you can do to let your hair grow up (well, down) to its potential.

Be nice to your hair. Your hair falls out naturally on its own, but you might be pulling it out a little faster with the things you do. The gentler you are with your hair, the less of it you'll yank out.Don't pull your hair into tight ponytails or cornrows. Use butterfly clips and loose braids instead.Brush it carefully. If you have wavy or curly hair, you should use a wide tooth comb while your hair is still wet, since brushes can disrupt curl pattern and cause frizz.Detangle your hair slowly and carefully. Start by combing out the last few inches, and gradually work up. This won't change how your hair grows, but careful combing can prevent your hair from breaking. Brush your hair before you shower. Throughout the night your hair can knot up. Brushing your hair before you shower reduces tangling in the shower. Also, when using conditioner, try sifting your fingers through your hair. This reduces extensive combing after your shower and also distributes the conditioner evenly.

Try to avoid tangles by not piling your hair on the top of your head when you lather it in the shower--when you roll it all up into a ball like that, there's more of a chance of tangling. Right before brushing, use your fingers to gently comb through your hair. And when you brush, start at the ends, and hold the strand that you're brushing with your other hand so that if you pull on the hair with a brush, you don't pull on the root (you pull from the grip of your hand instead). Minimize tangles in other situations, such as on windy days, by containing your hair with buns, braids, hats, etc. Minimize how much you style your hair. Any kind of styling that involves pulling your hair at the root (blow drying straight, straight iron, curling iron, rollers) will contribute to hair loss. Heat styling also can encourage hair to break. Avoid or minimize chemical treatments like dyes, tints, bleaches, straighteners, and permanent waves. These weaken your hair and increase the likelihood of breakage and loss. Take a daily multivitamin. Your body needs several building blocks in order to produce a healthy head of hair, and you can easily meet your body's requirement by taking a multivitamin consistently. Keep in mind, however, that it can take several months to notice the results, so don't get discouraged.Research suggests that iron deficiency makes hair loss worse. Women with heavy periods are at a higher risk of iron deficiency. However, unless you have an iron deficiency diagnosed by a doctor, you shouldn't take iron supplements. They can upset your stomach and cause severe constipation, and iron overload can be dangerous. Taking a multivitamin and eating iron-rich foods (tofu, lentils, beans, oysters, spinach, prunes, raisins, lean beef) is more than enough.

If you're a vegetarian, eat foods rich in Vitamin C whenever you eat iron-rich veggies. Vitamin C will help your body absorb the kind of iron that is found in vegetables. Avoid dramatic weight loss. As you shed pounds, you shed hair. The dramatic changes that your body undergoes when it loses weight quickly (the change in nutrients, the stress involved) can cause your hair to thin. Diets low in protein and iron (e.g. very low-fat) and also those high in protein but low in fruits and vegetables (e.g. Atkins) that result in dramatic weight loss can also trigger significant hair loss. Instead, keep a balanced diet, and focus on gradual calorie reduction (one or two pounds a week). Each hair on your head grows for 2-5 years, slows down for about six weeks, and rests for 3-5 months before falling out so a new hair can grow in its place. Normally, 15% of your hair is at the resting phase, but a sudden change in nutrition can cause some hair follicles in the growing phase to switch into the resting phase prematurely, possibly raising the percentage to more than 30%. Relax. Stress is a common cause of reversible hair loss. When you experience physical or emotional turmoil, it can take anywhere from 3 weeks to 4 months for the results to show up in your hair.[5] See How to Relieve Stress. Address any pressing health issues. Hair is a strong indicator of health. Many nutritional deficiencies can cause hair growth to slow, and can cause hair to thin. Hormonal problems such as hypothyroidism and PCOS can also cause thinning. If your hair has gotten seriously thinner or stops growing for more than a few months, you should discuss it with your doctor.

Your hair growth tends to decrease during colder months. Some medications might affect hair growth. Check with your doctor.Note that changes in hair growth caused by hormonal shifts (pregnancy, postpartum, nursing) can't be helped. If you are an avid swimmer, consider wear a swimming cap to protect your hair from chlorine damage. Those with curly/frizzy hair will have to be patient. The texture of your hair means that length will take a while to show, it doesn't mean your hair grows slower.Still not fast enough for you? Consider hair extensions, but exercise caution. There are many drawbacks to the use of hair extensions. You must make sure that whoever is applying your extensions is a professional. If applied poorly, your extensions will both look fake and severely damage your hair. Take your time selecting your extensions as well. There are a variety of materials and extensions available on the market, many of which can and will look horribly fake. The other drawback is that extensions must be periodically replaced every six to eight weeks. If you are willing to invest the time and money, then they may be the right choice for you. Try a final rinse with cider vinegar - you'll be amazed with how easy it is to comb after that.

Be a Successful Sports Player

Saturday, April 11, 2009

Becoming a sports player may seem simple, which is, when you follow a few simple steps

Be a "go-getter". If you really have a desire and willingness to contribute, then you have nothing to worry about. Go out and sign up if you are willing to contribute and be loyal to your team.Contribute. Don't just sign up just to be on the team. It doesn't matter about your skill, but your effort and willingness to contribute is more important. Just go out there every practice and game and work at it. If you strike out a couple times, remember the saying "How will you ever know your on top if you've never been on the bottom looking up?". Always respect the game. When pros cheat by using performance-enhancing drugs to boost muscle mass, they're only cheating themselves and tarnishing their sport. Most importantly, they're messing with the minds of fans nationwide. They are giving the wrong impression that it is okay to use drugs to make themselves better but, in fact, it is not okay to do such things. Every time they inject drugs into their system, their bodies are satisfactory in the short term (the large muscle mass) but they lose years of their life in the long run.

Always respect your teammates. The game is much more enjoyable when you are around a comfortable environnment rather than an environnment filled with tension and pressure. A negative environment makes for a difficult career.Always respect your opponents. Your opponents may be considered "enemies" on the field or court (whichever one you decide to play on), but they are still human. To lighten the impact of defeat, a simple high five, handshake, etc. and a nice "Good game" will be sufficient. It may not completely make your opponent feel better but at least you did your part. Even in rivalries, all that is supposed to be a fun competition and the game is supposed to be kept on the field/court. Always respect your officials. Respecting them may come out good for you and your team. For example, in baseball, if you continuously yell at the umpire, the next time you come up, he may be apt to may a bad call intentionally for "payback". Respecting the umpire may lead to him calling "your" game.

Always respect your managers/coaches. They are the ones who have the power to decide whether to put you out there or sit you. If you want more time out on the field and less time on the bench, then you'd better make a good relationship with your manager/coach. Help out each other. A team is like a village. You all need to work at it together in order to make the village, or team, perfect. Don't be the "village idiot" by being disrespectful, whiny, complaining, moaning, and unfriendly!Create motivation. Every once and a while, cheer on your team, even if nobody else is. It is like electricity. You be the conductor for the "electricity" to pass through. It's infectious. Especially after a great play like a buzzer-beater or grand slam. Just shout out "Let's go guys" or "Pick it up guys". Don't ever be afraid to do so. Just don't go overboard! That may tick your teammates off!

Don't be afraid to try a new sport. There is a good chance that if you are having difficulty with your current sport, you will be better at another. Roger Federer could have just played soccer, but now he's a tennis legend. Don't ever think that you are bad at your sport because of your "body type." Steve Prefontaine, one of America's greatest runners, once said referring to himself;

How does a kid from Coos Bay, with one leg longer than the other win races? All my life people have been telling me, 'You're too small Pre', 'You're not fast enough Pre.' 'Give up your foolish dream Steve.' But they forgot something. I have to win. Never yell and be too critical with your teammates. Be loose and give your teammates the benefit of the doubt. You could have been the one in a bad situation in which case you would have wanted people to be understanding and supportive.

Be Sociable at Dinner Time

Dinnertime is one part of the day that the family is together. It should be a time where family shares the events of the day. Some people aren't naturals at dinner conversation. Here are some tips to make it easier.

Ask others how their day went. Be sincere when you ask, listen as they speak, and respond appropriately. Remember that if they had a test that day, ask about it and try to converse in a give and take manner by telling them about your test, and then the conversation will go back and forth. Continue eating, listen to the conversation between other members of your family, and try to enter into it by injecting a thought and a smile and friendly chatter and laughter. Compliment the family member who made 'this delicious dinner', mention that the soup was great. Sharing of the day between each of you, laughing at funny parts, will make the dinner a happy, and sociable time of day. Keep eye contact at all times when speaking to the person.

Learning the art of conversation may take time. Start the conversation about the others at the table, rather than about yourself. If they see you really care about them, they'll be more likely to open up to you. Most people love to talk about themselves and then they will ask about you.Do not plan ahead about what you are going to talk about. If you listen, and ask questions, you will find it easy to 'chat'. You should not have to plan ahead 'what to talk about', just relax, be yourself, and flow with the talk

Don't keep talking or making others talk if you see they're not enjoying the conversation. Try changing the subject, but let it go if that doesn't work.

Deal With Embarrassment

Thursday, April 9, 2009

Learn to laugh at yourself and you'll be much happier.Let it off and laugh about it. The first thing you should do if you are embarrassed in front of other people is to indicate to others that it was a joke. State to others that it never occurred to you that you are tormented over it. Just laugh loudly and say "That's funny!". People will acknowledge that you didn't take it seriously and they will definitely stop doing it because you didn't respond the way they want you to -- they want you to suffer. But at least you manage to "act" as if you were not suffering. Now, this really depends on what you're embarrassed about.
Think about your problem carefully. When you go back to your comfort zone -- your room -- just take a moment to think how did that incident happened. Are you always careless? Consider ways on how to correct the problem. Improve your personality. Try to be more aware of what's happening around you if you are always careless.

About 99% of the time, things aren't as bad as you think. For instance, if your little brother told your date that you still sleep with a stuffed animal - Your date may do so as well, and so it may not be as embarrassing.People have dealt with embarrassment before, and so you will be able to handle it, too, as long as you have faith in yourself and can understand how to deal with your embarrassment.Don't be embarrassed over trivial things. Things that seem oh-so-important now; oh no, that girl has the same top as you; will be totally forgotten when you're older. Try not to yell at people for no reason, for they may think you are crazy and you might become embarrassed.

Embarrassment can cause a person to blush! This may ruin your "don't care" look. Take a deep breath, and try to cool down .If you say things that are really mean, you could get hurt and become embarrassed. That is when you make your own decisions. Do not continue to ignore people when they have stopped teasing you, so that you do not become embarrassed from ignoring the person for no reason.

Perfume

Wednesday, April 8, 2009

The world is full of different scents and smells that you can't get your nose away from. As humans, we a born indecisive and this article will help you be less indecisive when choosing perfume.Perfume is almost essential to a woman's beauty routine! But there are so many. Finding the right fragrances for yourself can be a challenging task. Before you venture out and invest a fortune in perfumes, know your own lifestyle, the kind of activities you do, and the kind of person you are.

Perfuming the body is an ancient beauty ritual. Pamper yourself with fragrances that enhance your lifestyle, your personality, and always remember the occasion. My favorite perfume is the Eternity Purple Orchid by Calvin Klein. The scent is very mild and stay on all day. Some perfume I can't stand and it give me a head ache.

Always apply your fragrance before you dress. It is very difficult to remove the scent of perfume from clothing. Do not spray scent directly on your clothes because perfume can stain fabrics and cling to them. If you want to scent your clothes, mist undergarments or your nightie.Visit Scent.net for up coming opening.

Kirkland

Monday, April 6, 2009

On the way home from green lake and Seward park, we drove by Kirkland and stop a while. I took this breath taking picture of sundown, well it's wasn't really sun down yet, was almost though. I love water, always have been back home in Philippines. Way back when I was still in Philippines every year my family goes to La Union Beach for vacation. Always love the water, walking by the seashore has something amazing thing to it. I used to collect shells, and polish it then bring it home. It's nice reminiscing what I had back home.

Ducks Swimming Freely

Here is the pictures of ducks that I took yesterday at SEWARD Park. I can't resist taking 'em.

Picture of Mount Rainier

This is the pictures of Mount Rainier that I took yesterday from SEWARD Park.We brought my digital camera but guess what? The battery is out:(( so I have to charged it in the car so I had to used my cellphone to take it. I think it came out nice, I wasn't sure at first. But after downloading the image at the pc, well it turn our nice.

It was a really clear day to take a picture, I am glad I did.

Enjoyed The Day Yesterday

I took the day off blogging yesterday due to the prostration on losing my PR. Weather yesterday was nice. The temperature was on 70's so, me and my hubby took advantage of the weather. We took our puppy Pepsi and went down to green lake. The green lake was packed. This is the first time for our puppy to go out on and see a bunch of people walking with their dog, so it was kind of nerve racking for her. She was so edgy at first but she got used to it.

We walked for four miles. Then after we gave the pup some water and beacon bits, we went down to another park in Seattle called Sewerd park, which is full of people barbecuing and walking. From down there we, walked for a little bit, then took some picture. I will be sharing that soon.

Today is on 70's as well, planning do go down to green lake again and take a walk after hubby comes back from business meeting which is very soon. So , I better get going and post some of the pictures I took yesterday.

Answer When Your Kids Want It "Fair"

Tired of hearing your kids whine "It's not fair! He has more cake than me!" or "It's not fair! She gets to go; why can't I?" Here's a tried and tested solution for all frazzled moms and dads.

Make things fair. Announce that things in this house will be fair from now on.
Choose a day when you can stay home with the children for at least 4 hours. Set out to be as annoyingly fair as possible. If one child goes to the bathroom, make the other go. If one wants cereal, make the other eat the same amount. If one sneezes, insist that the other sneeze as well. Hold firm for at least two hours. This will begin to wear on you too, but insist that each child mirror the other in every aspect of their day. Once things reach the breaking point, have a family meeting. Ask if they would like to re-think their request that things be "fair." If the answer is no, continue to repeat steps 3-5 until the answer is yes. Explain that we are all unique- that older children get different privileges - girls have different needs than boys, and special needs children are treated differently as well. But this exercise should show them that every child doesn't have the same needs, and that what is good, or what is appropriate, for one may not be good for the other. The next time you hear "It's not fair!", respond with, "I can make it fair if you really want me to!"

Choose a day that there is not a lot happening in - for you or the children. Choose the most irritating things possible to make the other recreate - the list is endless, but should include food, drink, trips to the bathroom, sneezing or coughing, movements, tying shoes, etc. Stand firm. Insist that the other sibling actually do the action, eat the food, etc. If they break down too soon (like 15 minutes later) insist that you're going to make things as fair as possible, and continue on. The longer and more painful you make the exercise the longer they will remember it.

If you have children with food allergies, make sure that anything one is allergic to is put away so they will not be required to eat it. This is a 'duh' but I have to put it- do not insist that the second child hurt himself or herself if the first one did this. You may have them repeat the action (such as kicking the table) but not with the same results. This will work with special needs children, but usually only in the case of the mainstream child learning to understand his sibling's world. Depending on the nature of the disability, the special needs child may get no benefit from this exercise. Watch out for unexpected company, emergencies, and busy chores. You do need to stay close to the children, and if you get too distracted, you may need to try this exercise on another day.

This 'How To' may not be suitable for many children. Why is your child saying things are unfair? Is there an underlying problem that you haven't noticed? For example, a younger daughter may develop negative feelings about herself if she wants to be more like her adolescent sister - developing breasts, perhaps going out with boys, going to more adult parties, etc. Don't sweep serious issues under the carpet by making light of the situation. Sometimes, saying 'You always seem to have more cake than me' really means 'I wish I was you'. Rather than spending four hours with two children, showing them you are as immature as they are, why not spend two hours' quality time with each child and find out what's really on their mind?

Know If There Is Sex Offenders In Your Area

Thursday, April 2, 2009

A safe community is a community that looks out for one another. A safe community is one that takes responsibility for supporting its members and ensuring that each and every person in that community is valued. At the end of the day, a community that strives to keep its area and activities safe for all its members creates a vibrant and caring community that is a pleasant and enjoyable place to live together.

We all want to keep our family and neighbor hood safe from sex offenders. And it is our right to know where they live at all times. Are you aware that there may be a registered sex offender in your area? It might very well be possible that a sex offender was recently released from jail. There is a law that says they must register, but many buy homes in residential neighborhoods, and no one ever says a word.

Track Local Sex Offenders by typing in your zip code. Tracksexoffenders.net will then show all the registered sex offenders in your area. And you will be able to read about their offense. If it's something serious like rape or child molestation worry. If it's something stupid like indecent exposure the person isn't dangerous, and probably isn't a rapist or predator. If it's statuary rape look into it more and find out how old they were vs. how old the 'victim' was. If they were close in age it was most likely consensual sex in a teenage couple and they are unlikely to be a pedophile or predator, but talk to them just in case. This is serious business, if there are any dangerous sex offenders near your address, keep children away from their houses and yards.

Visit the link above on how you can befenit from this information. Keep your neighborhood and child safe from predators visit the number website which is mention above to find local sex offenders in your area.

Decrease Your Metabolism

Your metabolism is the rate at which you "burn off" energy from the food you eat. Everybody's metabolism is slightly different, so everybody has slightly different needs when it comes to calories. As a general rule, the larger and more physically active you are, the faster your metabolism. Growing children also tend to have fast metabolisms.

Decreasing your metabolism means you are "turning down" your body's internal furnaces, which lowers your calorie requirements. It can help you survive if you are lost in the wild or starving. Heat loss is a major energy drain, so dress warmly to slow down your metabolism. When you are cold, your body increases the levels of uncoupling protein in your cells. Uncoupling proteins produce heat instead of useful energy from the food that you eat. Levels of thyroid hormone also rise. This may serve to initiate the production of uncoupling proteins. Thyroid hormone is "the most significant regulator of basal metabolic rate."[1] Remember that your basal metabolic rate is your rate of metabolism while you are sleeping. In laymen’s terms, that means that nothing increases your metabolism more than thyroid hormone. Huddle with other people if you have company. Move to the warmest area you can find, or build a shelter if you are outdoors. Lie still. Everything that you do burns Calories, and you probably know that exercise also increases metabolism. If possible, sleep. Do not drink cold water or eat snow. Your body will have to go to extra effort to stay warm.

Part of your metabolism is genetically controlled. You can tweak your metabolism up or down, but only within limits. Stay warm, but don't let your body overheat. Make sure that whatever you're wrapped in can let a little air circulate.

If you lower your metabolism and continue to take in the same number of calories you were eating before, you will gain weight. Your body does not need as much food with a slower metabolism, and it will store the extra energy as fat. This would be a good thing, however, if you found this article because you are trying to gain weight.

Cope With Living in a Boring Town

Whether it is Irvine, Singapore, Vermont, or Laguna Niguel, there are still ways you can have a little more fun than you can expect in even the most boring residences! Boring towns can be depressing, and they can REALLY screw up your life and make you feel like a total loser and that you're missing out on all the fun, but DON'T WORRY!

Explore as much as you can! Go to every restaurant, club (if there even is one), neighborhood, and at least TRY to find something exciting! Excitement won't just come to you, you've got to find it for yourself! If things are STILL not interesting, then try looking in every nook and cranny. Make some friends! Even the most boring of places can have the most interesting people! Try meeting someone new, and you will be surprised of the outcome. There may not be much to do around town, but you can always watch movies or play video games and what-not. You can even try to get yourself in a relationship.

Explore nearby places. There could be some other towns around your own that may be interesting, but don't always expect that you can just mosey on over there anytime you want. Laguna Niguel may seem close to Los Angeles, but it's still 20 hours away!! Try starting out with closer towns, and if you're not interested, then try aiming for even farther towns. Find out where everyone is hanging. Find where all the cliques are at and you may just find out where the fun is at! Persuade your guardian(s)/spouse to move. It may never work for many reasons, but if you're lucky... Complain to the Mayor. If you're lucky, he/she may accept your opinions about the town, but you have to NOT be rude no matter HOW much he/she has virtually "killed" your life. They may most likely not accept your opinion, especially if you're a teenager, so this option may be used as your last chance. Screw around! Go crazy! Go through the streets and cause trouble! (not recommended, your faults are your responsibility)

Use the library...
* Dig out local history, look for "interesting characters and dark skeletons".
o Visit the "interesting characters"
o Rattle the skeletons.
* Dig out statistical data and maps. Look for those "Hey that's weird!" numbers and "I don't know whats there gaps" in maps. Talk to old folk about yesteryear, it's what made this year. Go "urban exploring". Go "Cupping"- Cupping is a game in which the objective is to mislead people into thinking you have a cup balancing on the top of your car. Find a wax paper cup. Every fast food joint has them. Order water if nothing else. Then, hollow out the bottom of the cup, and put tape on the inside making a new bottom of tape. Stick it to the top of your car and drive around with your friends. You are guaranteed entertainment.

Don't give up! There has got to be something there for you to do! Nobody makes a town for nothing! If you plan on becoming a carpenter, you may gladly make whatever you wished your town had to compensate on it not being there in the first place. It would gladly save the town, and it's better to make others happy rather than just yourself. Some towns will be boring, but remember that it is never your fault :) Consider the truth in "There are no boring places, only boring people" and ask yourself if they're talking about you

Lap-Band

Sanitize Kitchen Surfaces

It's important to keep kitchen surfaces sanitized, especially when you're working with raw meat, in order to prevent food poisoning.

Scrub cutting boards with hot water and soap. Rinse it and dry it thoroughly. Never submerge cutting boards in a sink of water! Wood is porous and will soak up water, causing the cutting board to crack when it dries.Use vinegar to disinfect and clean your wood cutting boards or butcher block counter top. Wipe them with full-strength white vinegar after each use. The acetic acid in the vinegar is a good disinfectant, and its effective against such harmful bugs as E. coli, Salmonella, and Staphylococcus. Vinegar is especially good for people with chemical allergies. Keep a spray bottle of undiluted vinegar handy for easy cleaning and sanitizing.Try hydrogen peroxide. 3% hydrogen peroxide can also be used as a bacteria-killer. To kill the germs on your cutting board, use a paper towel to wipe the board down with vinegar, then use another paper towel to wipe it with hydrogen peroxide. Sanitize both your wood and plastic cutting boards with a diluted chlorine bleach or vinegar solution consisting of one teaspoon of liquid chlorine bleach in one quart of water or a one to five dilution of vinegar. Flood the surface with a sanitizing solution and allow it to stand for several minutes, then rinse and air dry or pat dry with paper towels.

If you have children, consider getting some cleaner that is safe for them to smell and touch.
