Natural remedies are often preferred by people who dislike taking too many pharmaceuticals and where the ailment is minor and can safely be treated at home. This article is a natural remedies for minor ailments that may be of some assistance. Of course, this is purely informational and you should seek professional health advice for any diagnosis or treatment suited to your own needs.

Use lemon to cure headaches. The membrane (the pockets left after you get out the juice out) can be dried, rinsed and eaten for headaches. Alternatively, add three or four slices of lemon to a cup of tea and drink. Another method is to simply rub a slice of lemon against the temple and forehead when the head is throbbing.

Use sugar to calm hiccups. Sugar can be placed on the back of the throat for hiccups. Swallow one teaspoon of sugar all at the same time.

Try ground cinnamon for headaches. Mix ground cinnamon with water into a paste and applied to the temples for headaches. It is said that this remedy works for headaches caused by exposure to cold winds.Take care though, as some migraine sufferers claim that cinnamon is a headache trigger owing to its tannin content.

Use garlic to ease the flu or a cold. Garlic is a broad spectrum antibiotic that is best used as a preventative. The juice should be taken 3-4 drops at a time in 1/4 cup of warm water for the flu or a cold. It may ease the length of time taken to recover from the illness.

Try peppermint for a stomach ache. Use peppermint in its dried plant form. It can be made into a tea and consumed to ease bellyaches.

For best results, remedies should be taken in very small doses. If in doubt, do not use it. Always seek professional health advice suited to your own needs.
