Natural remedies are often preferred by people who dislike taking too many pharmaceuticals and where the ailment is minor and can safely be treated at home. Use lemon to cure headaches. The membrane (the pockets left after you get out the juice out) can be dried, rinsed and eaten for headaches. Use sugar to calm hiccups. Sugar can be placed on the back of the throat for hiccups. Swallow one teaspoon of sugar all at the same time.

Use garlic to ease the flu or a cold. Garlic is a broad spectrum antibiotic that is best used as a preventative. The juice should be taken 3-4 drops at a time in 1/4 cup of warm water for the flu or a cold. It may ease the length of time taken to recover from the illness.
Try peppermint for a stomach ache. Use peppermint in its dried plant form. It can be made into a tea and consumed to ease bellyaches.
