Wear a Halter Dress

Wednesday, June 24, 2009

Celebrities and divas alike turn to the halter dress for that glamorous look. We all know that it is one of the sexiest formal dresses around. The halter dress style consists of two pieces of material that tie or are sewn behind the neck.

1. Choose your style. Several variations exist, including a knot-front halter and the very popular look where the straps tie behind the neck.
2. Consider straps. They can vary in size from spaghetti-width to wide. Some halter straps are adjustable, others provide elastic for added comfort.
3. Understand Halter dress's call extra attention to the upper half of your body. This includes your shoulder, face, and bust. An added advantage of this style of dress is it draws unwanted attention away from hips or legs.

Skip a necklace when wearing a halter style dress. It just becomes too "busy" at the neckline. If you are going for an extra glam look, opt for long earrings and pulled up hair. Make sure no bra straps are showing.

Avoid dresses that are way too short or way too tight. A smaller size actually makes you look bigger. Halter dresses that are extremely exposing and that don't have enough fabric around the bust do not flatter large busted women.

Endurance Athletes

Endurance training and racing requires quite a commitment from athletes ... the commitment is for time and money ... they put up with pain, they eat for the event and buy supplements that cost a bundle ... their equipment is specialized to their events (shoes, high performance clothing, bikes, skis, wet suit, heart monitor, exercise equipment, etc., etc.) Some of the athletes are in the professional ranks, but most are age-groupers. Why do the age-groupers do it?

1. Recognize the warning signs. Bad relationships are hurtful, humiliating or otherwise detrimental.
2. There are people who will use your weaknesses against you to obtain what they want. Avoid or otherwise dismiss them from your life. They aren't hard to recognize.
3. They will attempt to prey on your insecurities. Perceived or real. If you are lonely they will allude to that Attempting to make you fear that your loneliness may not ever end unless you give in to them.
4. The may try to play on your sympathies. Feigning hurt and vulnerability to illicit your attentions. They may say things such as they've been hurt in the past. Or life has been unkind to them.
5. Life has been unkind to all of us at times. They are just trying to manipulate you. Recognize it.
6. If you must communicate be brief. Do not play into their games. Offer no sympathy. Be straightforward and detached. Make it evident you're onto them.
