Jasmine Bath Salts

Wednesday, February 17, 2010

Jasmine is an uplifting and calming essence at one and the same time. A jasmine bath is a perfect way to unwind and to alleviate the cares of a tough day at work or running after the kids. It is also a very easy handmade product to produce by yourself and you could make extra to give to friends as gifts.

Combine the baking soda and sea salt to make the bath salts mix.Blend the scented mix ingredients together thoroughly.Add to the scented mixture to the bath salts mix and combine gently. Store in an airtight container until use.

If you wish to have colored bath salts, it only takes a few drops of food coloring added to the mixture. If desired, you can leave out the rose absolute, which tends to be a more expensive oil and also can contain chemical residues (rose oil is very hard to extract without chemical assistance).

Bath Salts Mix

1 cup baking soda
1 cup sea salt

Scented Mix

5 drops jasmine absolute essential oil
5 drops ylang-ylang essential oil
2 drops rose absolute oil
